Terms of Use

What to expect from LifeSignal, your responsibilities, and the limits of the service.
1. About LifeSignal
These terms describe use of the LifeSignal website, launch waitlist, and any preview access to the app and contact features. LifeSignal helps trusted people notice when a check-in may be needed. Please read these terms before using the service.
2. Waitlist and preview access
The waitlist records your interest in launch updates. Joining is free, does not create an app account, and does not guarantee an invitation or launch date. Preview plans do not charge you. Features and availability may change; any future paid offer will show its pricing and applicable terms before purchase.
3. How monitoring works
The app uses available activity signals on supported devices and your chosen interval. When that interval passes, the service attempts permitted reminders before alerting accepted, opted-in contacts after a grace period. Monitoring depends on permissions, device behavior, connectivity, and message delivery. Background updates and alerts may be delayed or unavailable.
4. Service limitations
LifeSignal is not an emergency response service, medical device, or substitute for direct contact. It does not dispatch emergency services. A lack of activity does not prove an emergency, and detected activity does not prove that someone is safe. If you believe there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services directly. Do not rely on LifeSignal as your only safety arrangement.
5. Accounts, contacts, and acceptable use
- Provide accurate details and use a phone number you control.
- Invite people who have a genuine relationship with you. Recipients must verify their number and choose whether to receive alerts.
- Keep verification codes and secure contact links private.
- Do not use the service to harass others, send unwanted invitations, impersonate anyone, monitor someone without permission, or bypass security controls.
6. Consent and stopping use
You can pause monitoring or remove contacts in the app. Contacts can decline, withdraw, or opt out using their secure links. You can ask to leave the waitlist by email. Messages already submitted to a delivery provider may still arrive after you change a setting. Contact us if you need help stopping use or closing an account.
7. Privacy and external services
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. Delivery may depend on external messaging, notification, and hosting services. Their availability and applicable terms also affect the features you use.
8. Changes and questions
We may update the service and these terms as LifeSignal develops. We will publish updates here with a revised date. These terms do not remove rights you have under applicable law. For questions, concerns, or help with the service, email lifes.signal@gmail.com.
