Understand what we collect, why we use it, and the choices you have.

1. About this policy

This policy describes how LifeSignal handles information through its website, waitlist, app, and contact links. The website currently accepts launch-interest registrations. App-related sections apply when you use the app or participate as a contact.

2. Information we collect

3. How we use information

We use information to record launch interest, verify phone numbers, operate the monitoring settings you choose, send permitted reminders and alerts, manage contact consent, answer support requests, and protect the service. Joining the waitlist does not create an app account or start monitoring. Launch-update consent is separate from app and contact-message consent.

4. Who receives information

Accepted contacts may receive your name, alert status, last known activity time, and information about whether activity updates are reliable. Contact acknowledgment records that an alert was seen; it does not confirm that you are safe.

Hosting and communication providers process information needed to operate the service. When enabled, WhatsApp messages use Twilio and WhatsApp, and device notifications use Firebase. Support email is handled through Gmail. Those providers also have their own privacy terms. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

5. Security and retention

Waitlist email addresses are stored in readable form in our database. Phone numbers and stored outbound message contents are encrypted at rest. Access to account and contact actions is authenticated. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

Routine maintenance removes activity observations after 30 days and completed message records, audit records, and resolved incidents after 90 days. Account details remain while your account is active. Unresolved delivery records and consent-suppression records may be retained to resolve delivery issues and honor opt-outs. Waitlist registrations remain until you request removal or the launch-update purpose ends.

6. Your choices and requests

You can pause monitoring, change permissions, and manage contacts in the app. Recipients can decline an invitation or withdraw through their secure contact link. To leave the waitlist or request access, correction, or removal of your information, email lifes.signal@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Any launch email will include a way to unsubscribe. Additional privacy rights may apply depending on where you live.

7. Cookies and website storage

Secure invitation, alert, and account flows use essential session cookies to keep verification and permissions associated with your browser. The website does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. Blocking essential cookies may prevent those flows from working.

8. Updates and contact

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. For privacy questions or concerns, email lifes.signal@gmail.com.
